Breast Augmentation – The Periareolar Incision

Published on November 1, 2016

It is important to know your options when deciding which incision is best for your breast augmentation. There are pros and cons to all types, but some can cater more towards your desires.

The periareolar incision is made around the outer edge of the areola. A pocket is created at the incision site, and the implant is then inserted and adjusted. This incision can be used with either saline or silicone implants. This incision method is best for managing bleeding and can be very successful at hiding any post-surgical marks.
